Athough the Corinda Men's and Ladies Bowls Clubs are two separate bodies there are many occasions when the men and women play combined social bowls.
Every second Monday of the month the Ladies Club conducts a mixed triples competition where the Ladies are the skips and the men play lead or second. It is a special day well attended by players from both our Clubs and visitors from other clubs are especially welcome.
The day begins with morning tea at 9am and the game commences at 9.30am. The format is 21 ends or the bell, followed by lunch.
There are raffles and free lucky ticket prizes which are drawn at the sit down lunch.
Every fourth Monday of the month the Men's Club conducts a mixed pairs competition where either men or ladies may skip. There are two games, with cash prizes for round winners and over-all winners. This event is held in the afternoon from 12.30pm, with afternoon tea splitting the two timed games.
Ladies are also welcome at the men's Saturday afternoon social games. These are held at 1.00pm in summer and 12.30pm in winter. Twenty one ends are played with a break for afternoon tea.
Each year we have the "Traders Day" competition with mixed teams from the men's and ladies clubs. The day has the support of local retailers and commercial business operators who always have been most generous in their sponsorship by way of gifts and vouchers which are raffled off during the afternoon buffet.
Similarly, by tradition, we have a mixed triples game which is held each year on the Brisbane Exhibition holiday.
